As if life between the two of us was not hectic enough, we've decided to add one more! Blessed by this miracle of life, we could not be happier to share the joy and craziness of our pregnancy with the ones we love. If nothing else, at least it's comic relief.
Have I ever mentioned that I love receiving packages.
Heck, I even like getting the mail.
When Matt and I first started dating, it was a walk to the mail boxes at our apartment complex, and he would always give me such a hard time for not being able to make it back home, before I ripped open each envelope. Hmmmph.
Well, its true.
I love all sorts of mail,
from letters,
to greeting cards,
to bundled little goodies.
This was the most recent arrival...
My long time best friend, Christina, sent these little gifts to us!
Christina, her husband, and son visited the 9/11 Memorial the other day
and picked up this adorable NYPD Onesie! She also sent one of her
favorite infant outfits, which her son wore, and these cute black and white
And by cramped, I mean baby is shoving either his head or his feet in to my rib cage.
Not to mention the occasional pushes on my bladder...
But on the bright side,
baby is kicking,
wiggling,
shoving,
punching,
and letting me know he his happy and healthy.
This past week was one of the more challenging.
Bending down is getting harder,
work is tiring
and at the end of my week, I made one more long drive down to Orlando
... to visit the love of my life {Matt}.
Car rides at 32 weeks pregnant are interesting.
Proudly, I made it 4 hours with out having to stop for a bathroom break once!
Apparently baby loves stretching his little body while I am sitting down,
so the whole time I was fighting for air as he pushed up in to my diaphragm.
But those things are trivial, and I have a healthy baby.
So there are no real complaints here.
And, talking about no complaints,
can I just say how blessed I am?
I am so grateful for my friends and family.
They are the best.
My amazing highschool friends threw me an amazing baby shower this past weekend.
It. Was. Gorgeous.
I am so lucky to be surrounded by people who love, inspire, and support me.
The food was perfect.
The decorations were adorable.
And the company was even better.
So, can you believe it?
31 Weeks?! Only 9 more to go!?
Well. I can't.
I feel like we are ready,
I am trying to mentally prepare myself.
If you remember from week 27's post I had an on-going to do list.
Here it is... updated!
Remaining to do list in the nursery:
1. Paint changing table.
2. Find one more 8x10 wall art piece.
3. Get a crib mattress.
4. Get Crib bedding.
5. Find a rug that we love. Get the rug.
6. Decide if curtains are a) necessary and b) in the budget right now.
7. Figure out bookshelf situation.
8. Print pictures of Matt and me (Mama and Daddy) as additional wall art.
9. Have a fat little baby to put in the crib.
Wow. Things are getting real.
Here is what's going on inside:
Hello from BabyCenter! This week, your baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (try carrying four navel oranges) and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, so you may have trouble sleeping because your baby's kicks and somersaults keep you up. Take comfort: All this moving is a sign that your baby is active and healthy.>>Read more about this week
Your baby at 31 weeks
Your baby can turn her head from side to side.
Week 31
19
Your Baby:
Blah blah blah 3.3 pounds, bag of oranges, sock full of nickels, etc.
Enjoys yawning, sucking his or her thumb, kicking mom in the diaphragm.
Turn-offs include: getting the hiccups, really loud noises and you trying to do all that boring “sleeping” at night.
You:
Can totally round down your answer to “two months” when people ask you how much longer you have to go. DO NOT focus on the crazy week-to-month-ratio math at this point in pregnancy, particularly when there are breakable, smashy objects within reach.
May be weirdly and inexplicably congested all the time. I, for one, appear to be allergic to my pillow. This is also prime time for pregnancy colds, as the toll on your body and immune system is getting higher by the week. Take it easy, slow down, take your vitamins and try try try to get enough sleep.
Can now play everybody’s favorite game, Guess The Body Part That’s Sticking Out Next To My Belly Button! Elbow or heel? Head or butt? Did I seriously just maybe feel my baby’s BIG TOE!?
How far along?: 31 Weeks; 4 Days
Total weight gain/loss: +23 pounds
Maternity clothes?: Just jeans! Lots of stretchy leggings!
Stretch marks?: None :)
Sleep: Yeah. Not a fan. Apparently pregnancy dreams are THE WORST.
I am almost afraid to fall asleep, with the fear that my dreams are going to be
SO realistic.
Best moment this week: Seeing my friends, my family, and sleeping in the same
bed as my baby daddy.
Miss Anything?:Breathing. This weekend, I was getting ready for bed, and Matt peeked
his head in the bathroom and asked why I was breathing to hard!? Um. Hello Honey??!
And I have not thought "I'm ready to not be pregnant" until this week.
This sounds so prima donna, but here is my 30 week wish list:
1. A Maid
2. A Manicure
3. A Pedicure
4. A Massage
5. New Clothes
6. A Hair Cut
7. A Beach Vacation
That's not too tall of an order, right?
Well, since none of those things were in sight this week,
I did a few things in baby's room instead.
Finished Changing Table!
Thanks to a can of paint I had in my garage and
my sisters (gifting the changing pad to us).

Also, I had my 30 week OBGYN appointment.
I have gained 1 pound in a month and everything is moving along smoothly.
We have been so blessed during this entire pregnancy, and I am praying it continues.
Our midwife, Jane, is amazing and so encouraging, especially when we talk
about Matt being gone. She assures me we can get him home for the delivery.
... Okay Jane.
30 WEEKS.
Hello from BabyCenter!
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)>>Read more about this week
Your baby at 30 weeks
Shine a light on your belly – your baby can follow it.
Weighs about three pounds and is 17 inches long. Since most full-term babies are between 20 and 22 inches long at 40 weeks’ gestation, your baby will pack on more pounds than inches in the 10 weeks or so.
Is starting to get a little crowded in there, but still has room to wiggle and roll and punch and kick.
Despite all the movement, it’s still damn near impossible to tell what position your baby is in for sure (head down, breech, transverse, etc.), but it’s also still too early to be worrying about it. MOST babies settle into a head-down position around 36 weeks, and some still manage to flip themselves around after that.
You:
May feel like you’re gestating a pissed-off housecat rather than a chubby wittle baby at this point, with some movement and kicks causing ACTUAL PHYSICAL PAIN. Some women experience kicks so sharp and unnerving they mistake them for uterine contractions, even if they’ve already been through pregnancy and labor and should really know better.
Some of these women may even write pregnancy guides on the Internet.
Okay.
So I got a little carried away with the picture this time.
I bought this bathing suit at Forever21 and am seriously in love with it.
Why a bathing suit for my outfit choice, you ask?
Because people.
10 MORE WEEKS....
- until I can hold my baby.
- until I can start thinking about bathing suit season.
- until I can feel like a semi-normal human being again.
- UNTIL WE'RE PARENTS!
Who wouldn't want to wear a bathing suit to celebrate the "10 Week Left" mark?!
Wooo Hooo!
*And, a bathing suit is really the only way to tell how big the belly actually is!
How far along?: 30 Weeks; 6 Days
Total weight gain/loss: +23 pounds
Maternity clothes?: Yes! And this cute bathing suit I found at Forver21!
Stretch marks?: None :)
Sleep: Ehhh... not great. A ton of weird dreams, had a dream baby came early.
And he's moving around a ton... painful moving! Yikes. Add that to midnight
