30 Weeks!

Woah Baby.
30 weeks going on 40.
I feel SO pregnant.
I know that is super cliche, but man.
I have not had trouble sleeping until this week.
I have not had back pain until this week.
And I have not thought "I'm ready to not be pregnant" until this week.

This sounds so prima donna, but here is my 30 week wish list:
1. A Maid
2. A Manicure
3. A Pedicure
4. A Massage
5. New Clothes
6. A Hair Cut
7. A Beach Vacation

That's not too tall of an order, right?
Well, since none of those things were in sight this week,
I did a few things in baby's room instead.

Finished Changing Table!
Thanks to a can of paint I had in my garage and
my sisters (gifting the changing pad to us).
This $30 Sewing Table has been repurposed!

< This afghan was Matt's! I Love it ; Matt's parents sent us our car seat! >

Also, I had my 30 week OBGYN appointment.
I have gained 1 pound in a month and everything is moving along smoothly.
We have been so blessed during this entire pregnancy, and I am praying it continues.
Our midwife, Jane, is amazing and so encouraging, especially when we talk
about Matt being gone. She assures me we can get him home for the delivery.
... Okay Jane.

30 WEEKS.
My Pregnancy This Week

Hello from BabyCenter!
Your baby's about 15.7 inches long now, and she weighs almost 3 pounds (like a head of cabbage). A pint and a half of amniotic fluid surrounds her, but that volume will decrease as she gets bigger and takes up more room in your uterus. Her eyesight continues to develop, though it's not very keen; even after she's born, she'll keep her eyes closed for a good part of the day. When she does open them, she'll respond to changes in light but will have 20/400 vision – which means she can only make out objects a few inches from her face. (Normal adult vision is 20/20.)>> Read more about this week

       Week 30

12

pregnancy calendarYour Baby:
  • Weighs about three pounds and is 17 inches long. Since most full-term babies are between 20 and 22 inches long at 40 weeks’ gestation, your baby will pack on more pounds than inches in the 10 weeks or so.
  • Is starting to get a little crowded in there, but still has room to wiggle and roll and punch and kick.
  • Despite all the movement, it’s still damn near impossible to tell what position your baby is in for sure (head down, breech, transverse, etc.), but it’s also still too early to be worrying about it. MOST babies settle into a head-down position around 36 weeks, and some still manage to flip themselves around after that.
You:
  • May feel like you’re gestating a pissed-off housecat rather than a chubby wittle baby at this point, with some movement and kicks causing ACTUAL PHYSICAL PAIN. Some women experience kicks so sharp and unnerving they mistake them for uterine contractions, even if they’ve already been through pregnancy and labor and should really know better.
  • Some of these women may even write pregnancy guides on the Internet.

Okay.
So I got a little carried away with the picture this time.
I bought this bathing suit at Forever21 and am seriously in love with it.

Why a bathing suit for my outfit choice, you ask?
Because people.
10 MORE WEEKS....
- until I can hold my baby.
- until I can start thinking about bathing suit season.
- until I can feel like a semi-normal human being again.
- UNTIL WE'RE PARENTS!

Who wouldn't want to wear a bathing suit to celebrate the "10 Week Left" mark?!
Wooo Hooo!

*And, a bathing suit is really the only way to tell how big the belly actually is!

How far along?: 30 Weeks; 6 Days
Total weight gain/loss: +23 pounds
Maternity clothes?: Yes! And this cute bathing suit I found at Forver21!
Stretch marks?: None :)
Sleep: Ehhh... not great. A ton of weird dreams, had a dream baby came early.
And he's moving around a ton... painful moving! Yikes. Add that to midnight
breaks (about 5 a night).
Best moment this week: Finishing the baby shower Pirate's Cake!
Miss Anything?: Normality. Wine. Beer. Bloody Mary's. Margaritas.
Movement: Oh yes.
Food cravings: More fresh food (fruits and veggies) lately. And cheese ;)
Anything making you queasy or sick: No!
Have you started to show yet: YES.
Gender: A baby Matt.
Labor Signs: Same 'ol. Braxton Hicks.
Belly Button in or out?: Out!
Wedding rings on or off?: On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy but so so so tired. I have so much
I want to accomplish before baby gets here, but I am running out of steam.
Looking forward to: Looking at baby's face for the first time. I keep reading
birth stories and I am so excited.

Until Next Time,
LP
